Virtual Environment - The Artivice and The Virtual - Research - Jan-Robert Leegte

Jan-Robert Leegte is a media artist that questions what is real and what isn't and attacks the obvious. One such example of this is his work on "Scroll Bars" where he installed sets of them into actual rooms to investigate what affect this had on the viewer. Other work relates to screen work that uses your movement and input to makeup images, this creates a great sense of un-nerving and almost feels like you are being watched. In many peices for example "Scan" he only lets you see one aspect of the work at the same time, creating a great sense of imprisonment and frustration in the fact you can't make out the whole image due to it being fragmented. Now though that I have had a look at some websites I think I need to get some publications on his work to better understand his theories.
